For previous NPMail users

• Your previous @newpaltz.edu address is now an @hawkmail.newpaltz.edu address.
• If you had an alias (such as jsmith21@newpaltz.edu), then that is now an @hawkmail address (jsmith21@hawkmail.newpaltz.edu).
• Mail sent to your @newpaltz.edu address or alias will be routed to the new hawkmail system but only until September 1st, 2012.
• Mail from Blackboard, my.newpaltz.edu, or other automated systems will be directed to the hawkmail.newpaltz.edu address.
• If you have any persons, businesses, or organizations contacting you via the @newpaltz.edu address, make sure they start using the @hawkmail.newpaltz.edu address before September 2012.

For new students (after September 2011)

• Your email address is your username@hawkmail.newpaltz.edu
• You can request an alias for your email (which will contain your first name or initial, your last name, and the last two digits of your BannerID, such as bjones10@hawkmail.newpaltz.edu, or brian.jones10@hawkmail.newpaltz.edu).  You can do this via my.newpaltz.edu (click the “Computer Services” link in the “Student Services” tab, then on the request alias link).
• You will not have an @newpaltz.edu

After September 2012, @newpaltz.edu email addresses will only be for current faculty & staff members (as well as department/program/general use accounts).
